The Union Public Service Commission (U P S C) holds a combined Examination for recruitment as General Duty Medical Officer in the Central Health Services, Ordinance Factories & Health Services and Railways.
Only those who have passed the Final M.B.B.S. Examination are eligible to appear in this examination but they will be appointed only after completion of the Internship Training.

A).Written Examination: -Total Marks 400 
held each year on the third or last Sunday of February.
Paper I-120 MCQs from General Medicine & Surgery
Paper II-120 MCQs from Preventive and Social Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics.

B).Personality Test: - Total Marks 200
Candidates who obtain such minimum marks in the written examination as may be fixed by the U P S C in their discretion (usually 75%marks or above) shall be summoned by them for an interview for a personality test.
